چکیده
Abstract. Albian to Turonian carbonate deposits at three different locations of the Lower Saxony Cretaceous and thereby European mid-Cretaceous epeiric shelf sea were investigated for their fossil agglutinated foraminiferal fauna. In this study, 71 samples from two quarries drill cores treated with formic acid, which enabled study assemblages even in highly lithified limestones. total, 114 species determined classified as belonging nine morphogroups. general, four are distinguished: (1) an uppermost Albian–lowermost Cenomanian assemblage Wunstorf cores, dominant taxa Bathysiphon spp., Nothia Psammosphaera fusca, Reophax subfusiformis, Bulbobaculites problematicus, Tritaxia tricarinata, Flourensina intermedia, Vialovella frankei, Arenobulimina truncata, Voloshinoides advenus; (2) a Baddeckenstedt quarry Ammolagena clavata, (3) related Cenomanian–Turonian Boundary Event Söhlde dominated by problematicus; (4) sections high numbers contorta, Repmanina charoides, Gerochammina stanislawi, Spiroplectammina navarroana. The latest Albian–earliest consists tubular, globular, elongate morphogroups typical low- mid-latitude slope biofacies. All other composed additionally globular forms proximal settings or flattened planispiral streptospiral more distal Wunstorf. For these assemblages, new biofacies named “mid-latitude biofacies” is proposed herein. Changes relative abundance can often be referred single features depositional sequences. Furthermore, classical macro-bioevents, depositional-related, seem have micro-bioevent acme equivalent

Facies, sedimentary environments and sequence stratigraphy of Cretaceous deposits in the northwest of Azerbaijan, Iran
The Cretaceous deposits in Morakan, located in the northeast of Khoy, a town in western Azerbaijan province, Iran, are primarily made up of carbonate rocks. These deposits, which are of 717 meters thick, lie on the clastic facies of Jurassic and are covered with beneath the pelagic beds of the Upper Cretaceous. To investigate the facies, sedimentary environment and sequential stratigraphy of th...

متن کاملA Therian from the Lower Cretaceous (albian) of Texas
Mammals of metatherian-eutherian grade are represented in a collection recovered from a Wise County, Texas, locality of Lower Cretaceous (Albian) age. The form, or forms, are distinctly primitive as evidenced by the very small low protocones, large stylar cusps, and wide stylar shelf. The presence of well-developed and separate metacones at such an early date would seem to place Deltatheridium ...
متن کاملBenthic Foraminiferal Faunal Turnover Across the Cretaceous/Tertiary Boundary at Agost (Southeastern Spain): Paleoenvironmental Inferences
We studied Upper Cretaceous and Lower Paleogene benthic foraminifera from the Agost section (southeastern Spain) to infer paleobathymetrical changes and paleoenvironmental turnover across the Cretaceous/Paleogene (K/P) transition. Benthic foraminifera indicate uppermost bathyal depths at Agost during the Abathomphalus mayaroensis Biochron (from about 400 kyr before the K/P boundary) through the...
